Here it is time to pay our taxes. I’m hoping each of you get a big return and not have to pay anything. It is cloudy this Monday morning as I write this. Maybe the sun will shine before the day is over. I certainly hope so. Many thanks to everyone who helped clean the cemetery.

Jesus told us in John 10:10 that He came to give us an “abundant life,” a l ife t hat i s o verflowing. I believe that and it is my experience but I don’t see it so much with most people that claim to be a Christian. Why is that?

Pre-K and kindergarten registration

Preregistration for free 2024-2025 pre-K and kindergarten will be held on Thursday, April 18 at Rockdale Elementary School from 3:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WATCH PARTY

Main Street Bookshop held an eclipse watch party in their parking lot on Monday and even had visitors from London, England stop by. Booths were set up selling lemonade, all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, eclipse cookies and cupcakes.

More good news about county unemployment

Last week, we discussed Milam County’s unemployment rate and how we are experiencing one of the best labor markets in recent history. We can get a little more detail on our unemployed population by looking at some other data.

Rockdale Community Market

Rockdale’s new Community Market starts this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 12-noon at Cardinal Roofing, 1613 W. Cameron Ave. The market will feature a variety of vendors, a food truck and live music.
