Home garden tour planned for May 11

Rockdale Earth Day will hold 2024 Home Garden Tour, an exploration of some of Rockdale’s finest home gardens on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

QUICK LOOK

The spring “Meet the Tigers” will be held on Saturday at the Rockdale Tiger baseball field and will include several events. A Facebook auction begins at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday’s events include an alumni game at 10 a.m. with registration beginning at 9:15 a.m. A fish fry dinner begins at 11 a.m.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Demarcus Tindle, 36, Rockdale, was arrested for assault of family/household member with previous conviction and for possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams).

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 1602 Sager for a small brush fire on March 12 at 7:44 p.m. Milano VFD Responded to: • Star Motel for an 18-wheeler accident with no injuries on March 15 at 6:32 p.m. • US 79 at TX 36 for an 18-wheeler accident with no injuries on March 16 at 12:25 a.m.

One of the many amazing things about living in a small town is knowing your neighbors and your UPS driver. For the last five years J.W. has served the Milano community and was always willing to go above and beyond just regular package delivery. Now that J.W.
