First Friday Coffee April 5

Rockdale Earth Day is sponsoring the First Friday Coffee at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library on April 5. All are invited from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Recipes using leftover ham

If you have leftover ham after Easter, I have your back this week with recipes to help you use it up. This first one sounds very interesting to me. I have had ham biscuits but not like this where the ham is chopped up in the dough. Cayenne pepper is often added to dishes with cheese.

One arrested on felony warrant, one accident responded to by RPD

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Derek Marcel Contreras, 27, Rockdale, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram), possession of a dangerous drug, and prohibited substance/item in a correctional facility. Accidents Ofc.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • Rockdale Federal Credit Union on March 28 at 4:03 p.m. for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the roadway. Milano VFD Responded to: • US 79 at CR 308 for a report of heavy smoke which turned out to be a controlled burn on March 29 at 4L04 p.m.

Popular dog names according to the American Kennel Club

The American Kennel Club reports that the most popular dog names of 2023 were “Luna” for girl dogs and “Max” for boy dogs. Luna beat out “Bella” for the top spot, while Max bested “Charlie.
