Mr. Billig Robert Lee Billig, 74, passed away Feb. 1, 2025, at home in Spokane, Washington. Born on Feb. 4, 1950, Robert dedicated much of his life to his community and his country. Rober t graduated from Sealy High School and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1968 to 1970.

Mr. Cernuch Michael Keith Cernuch, 68 of Gause, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, of complications from a horse riding accident. Mike was born Dec. 28, 1956, in Houston to Shirley Wood and Charley C. “Chuck” Cernuch Jr.

Jones

Mr. Jones Arvin John Jones was born Dec. 3, 1958, in Frankfurt Germany, to Reval Viola (RV) Jones and Charlotte Brossman Jones. He passed from this life on April 10, 2025. He graduated from Milano High School in 1977 after moving there from Livingston in 1972.

God peacefully called our beloved father, Lois Ray Mitchell, home on April 5, 2025. A celebration of life was to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Mr. Mitchell Pastor Larry Caldwell Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith Marie Smith graduated to guardian angel on April 12, 2025, in Rockdale at the age of 88.

Ms. Curtis WIMBERLEY—Sally Grace Curtis, 72, of Wimberley gave up her courageous bat t le with ovarian cancer overnight on Feb. 28, 2025. After a champagne toast to gathered family and friends the evening of Feb. 26, she died peacefully in her sleep.

PALESTINE—Donald (Donnie) Knott, 72, of Palestine passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, surrounded by family. He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Cameron, the son of D.C. and Hattie Knott.

Karen Rheatte Leath

Karen Rheatte Leath, 73, died on Friday, March 21, 2025, at a San Antonio hospital. She was born on April 18, 1951, in Brazos County, the daughter of James Dudley Leath and Doris Dell Moody. Rheatte graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron in 1969.
