Lester Gene Brooks, 90, of Lake Whitney passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at Ascension Prov idence Hospital in Waco. Bo r n o n March 16, 1935, in Rockd ale, Les ter was the beloved son of Wallace and Emma-Gene Brooks.

Martha “Molly” Marquez, 77, formerly of Rockdale, was born Dec. 7, 1947, and on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Martha left this earth for her forever home in heaven. Visitation for Mrs. Marquez was held from 5 to 7 p.m.

Andrea Louise Holmes

Andrea Louise Holmes, 55, of Rockdale died Saturday, July 5, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Holmes , a homemaker, was born March 22, 1970, in Fresno, California, to Norma Mills. She married Micheal Sean Holmes on May 21, 2003. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Mills, and mother, Norma Mills.

Dorothy Ann Valigura

Dorothy Ann Valigura, 91, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025.  Graveside service were held Monday, June 30, at College Station Cemetery. Dorothy was born Sept. 9, 1933. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.

Mr. Spence Rodney Clarence Spence, 92, was born Nov. 10, 1932, in the Forest Grove c ommu n i ty, south of Rockdale, to Henr y a nd Carr ie Kyle Spence. He passed from this life on June 20, 2025, at his home su r rounded by his loving wife Lu of almost 70 years, his children and their families.

McDavid

Charles William McDavid, 72, of Rockdale went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2025. A graveside service Mr. McDavid will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at Knobbs Cemetery in Lee County, with Bro. David Atwood officiating. Charlie was born in Elgin on Aug. 4, 1952.

Richard Thaddeus Cook, 57, of Thorndale went home to rest Wednesday, June 11, 2025, where he was surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Freddie Williams officiating.
