Mrs. Tindle Eloise “Ella”(Howard) Tindle, affectionately known as “Ma” or “Gramms,” passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2025, at the age of 87. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Rising Star Baptist Church with Dr. Royal L. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Phyllis Campbell Denman, beloved wife, mother, grandmo ther and great- grand m o t h e r , entered into eternal rest on Sept. 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Phyllis was born on Oct. 11, 1940, in Gage, Oklahoma to Lloyd William Campbell and Agnes Ellen Fields.

Mary Ann Tunnell Walker

Mary Ann Tunnell Walker passed away on Sept. 6, 2025, at the age of 84, resting peacefully in her home in Euless. She was born on Oct. 6, 1940, in Dallas and soon moved to Rockdale, where she grew up.

Eleanor (Susie) Howell Weems

On Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, in Cameron, Eleanor (Susie) Howell Weems went home to be with the Lord at the amazing age of 102 years and 36 days. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, with Chaplain Dub Falsone officiating.

Mr. Knight MILANO—George Ray Knight Jr., lovingly known as Ray, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 16, 2025, at the age of 45. R ay wa s born on Dec. 26, 1979, at Baylor Scott & White in Temple to George Ray Knight Sr. and Lynda Jean Kornegay-Knight.

Yakesch

Mr. Yakesch Thomas Hardy Yakesch passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 81. Bo r n o n F e b r u a r y 14, 1944, in Rockdale, Texas, he was rai sed in Thorndale before later making his home in Taylor.

Allen

Mr. Allen THORNDALE—Billy Dean Allen, age 71, passed away at his home in Temple, Oklahoma, on Sept. 1, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Evangelical Christian Church, 3394 FM 486 in Thorndale. He was born in Lubbock to Olen Odell (Bill) and Alice B.

Moore

Jimmie W. Moore passed away on Sept. 4 after a battle with cancer. His cele bration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Millwood Baptist Church in Austin. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. He was born in Austin on March 13, 1947, the son of JC and Edna Moore.

Mrs. Pick

Nancy Elizabeth Jones Pick was born July 23, 1955, in Rockdale to Edward and Jessie Jones. She attended school in Trinit y and Mart. She was very active in sports activities and she graduated from Mar t High School in 1973. She had two daughters, Amanda Grace and Bethany Clay.

Mr. Ross

Walter ( Walt) Raymond Ross Sr., 78, of Rockdale, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, after an extended battle with heart disease. Walt worked many years as project manager for several different companies throughout his career, including a year as project manager in Africa.
