LANCASTER—Brinkne Nicoal Gest of Red Oak was born on Oct. 9, 1992, in Dallas to Walter Lynn and Cynthia Elaine Gest. She came into this world fighting for her life with a serious heart defect and this miracle child continued to fight throughout her life, astonishing her doctors at every turn.

Hodges

Odelsa Jean Hodges, 88, of Rockdale died Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock. The family will observe a private service at a later date. Mrs. Hodges was born March 4, 1934, in Dewey, Oklahoma, to Eugene Wayne and Violet Mae (Tuck) Brown.

Kent

Clinton Edwin Kent, 77, of Clifton passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 17, 2022. A celebration of life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Church on the Hill, 2000 Old Brandon Road in Hillsboro. Burial was held later at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.

CAMERON—Services for Lucille Teresa Schoellmann Labay will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, beginning with a rosary at 2 p.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Nada. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nada. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

Seelig

Doris Ann Seelig, 87, of Temple, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services were held Friday, April 1, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Ms. Seelig was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Rockdale to Edward and Bessie Leona (Henry) Backhaus.

Charles Otis “Boots” Kraatz

IRVING—Charles Otis “Boots” Kraatz of Irving died Monday, March 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held at John P. Brooks & Family Aria, 1820 N. Beltline Road in Irving, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 5. Burial will follow at 2:15 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas.

Eugene Albert “Gene” (Po’ Papa) Mitchan

CAMERON—Eugene Albert “Gene” (Po’ Papa) Mitchan, 92, of Cameron died Saturday, March 26, 2022, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Cameron with Rev. Barry Cuba officiating. Burial will follow in St. Monica Cemetery.

Charles Ray Robison

Charles Ray Robison, 76, of Thorndale died Friday, March 25, 2022. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Robison was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Cameron to Elizabeth and Ray Robison. He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1963. Mr. Robison served in the U.S.

Walter Waylon (Bud) Williams

Walter Waylon (Bud) Williams was born Nov. 12, 1933, to Jesse Nathaniel and Lola Fay ( Mat t he w s) Williams in Gause. He passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, in Cuero. He was born in the community of Pin Oak, near Gause. His love for nostalgia was born there, in that simpler time and place.

Baxter

Regina Lynn Barber Baxter, 60, of Temple, formerly of Rockdale, died Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Private family services will be held at a later date. Ms. Baxter was born July 1, 1961, in Marlin to Royce and Mary Pauline (Pennington) Barber.
