WEST—Over the weekend, the Rockdale boys powerlifting team competed in the regional meet at West High School to close out their season. Competing were Cohen Razo, eighth; Luke Olivares, 10th; Kevin Rodriguez Gamaez, 10th; Ragan Roberts, eighth; Abel Castillo, 12th; and Bryson Duncan, 5th.

ROCKDALE GOLF

The Rockdale Tiger golf team scored their best team total of the season with a score of 328 in the Pflugerville Weiss Classic at Shadow Glen in Manor. They battled throughout the day in the wet conditions. Mason Lillard took first place score with a 72 and the team placed fourth among 17 teams.

Three Rockdale Lady Tiger basketball seniors were named to the Texas High School Coaches Association’s Academic All-State Second Team. Players receiving the honors were Grace Patton, Trinity Hurd and Jerneé Mitchell.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Rockdale Tiger softball and baseball teams played their arch rival Cameron Yoe last week. On Tuesday both teams traveled across the river to play. Then both teams hosted the Yoe on Friday. TUESDAY— The Tigers came home with a win, defeating the Yoe, 8-1.

The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) joined the Rockdale Tiger baseball team on Friday night as part of Tiger Night. 'It was a fun experience for the youth to be able to run on the field and be a part of the pregame ceremonies,' said Russell Carroll, president of RYBA.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tiger soccer teams were in action on Friday against the Cameron Yoemen. The girls (10-14, 6–10) closed their season with a 6-1 win against the Lady Yoe and the boys (14-8-1, 10-6) came out on top of the Yoemen, 4-2.

ROSEBUD - LOTT— The Thorndale Bulldog baseball team traveled to Rosebud-Lott Wednesday to open district play against the No. 24 state ranked Cougars. In an exciting extra-innings game, the Bulldogs scored two in the top of the ninth to secure a 4-2 victory.

Ten Thorndale Bulldog hoopsters earned All-District 27-2A accolades, as follows: • MVP— Case McDaniel. • CO-DEFENSIVE MVP— Kale Meadors, Ethan Schramm. • FIRST-TEAM ALL-DISTRICT— Wyatt Betak, Tristan Garcia. • SECOND-TEAM ALL-DISTRICT— Garrett Schramm.

ROCKDALE GOLF

The Rockdale Tigers golf team earned a second-place finish in Cameron last week, scoring 327. Zeb Skrhak’s round of 73 secured him a second-place finish. Mason Lillard shot a 75, tying for third. The Lady Tigers team continues to make strides each week.
