GIDDINGS—The Thorndale Bulldogs (28-4) extended their winning streak to 17 games Monday night with a 69-36 victory over the Bloomington Bobcats (1715) in the bi-district round of UIL Class 2A basketball playoffs.

The Rockdale Tiger (11-61, 7-4) and Lady Tiger (5-11, 2-7) soccer teams had two matches each last week. The Lady Tigers traveled to Manor New Tech (9-7, 5-4) and lost in the penalty kick shootout, 3-1. Regulation score was 0-0. On Friday the Lady Tigers played in Salado (17-1, 10-0) and fell, 6-0.

The Rockdale Tiger baseball team (5-0-1) traveled to Rosebud-Lott to play in the Rosebud-Lott Tournament last week. The Tigers went 3-0-1 with big wins over Taylor, Milano and Holland and a 0-0 tie with Teague. Tiger senior Brody Willard led the Tigers batting .455 for the tourney.

Granger FAIR. Water stained; 48 degrees; 0.32 feet above pool. Black bass are fair on jigs and rattle traps fished up river around timber. Crappie are showing up in shallow sloughs and coves off the river with night fishing producing best.

The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team (2-7) played in the La Grange Tournament last week. They defeated New Braunfels Thunder, 7-2, and lost to East Bernard, 6-3; Shiner, 3-2; and home team La Grange, 7-6. THIS WEEK— The Lady Dogs will play in the Franklin Tournament beginning Thursday.

The Rockdale Tigers (114-1, 7-2) and Lady Tigers (5-9, 2-5) varsity soccer teams went undefeated last week posting shutouts in all four games. CAMERON— The boys varsity traveled to Cameron on Feb. 11 and won, 1-0. Eduardo Rivera had the lone goal with an assist from Wilmer Sorto.

ROGERS— The Rockdale Tiger (15-17, 9-2) varsity basketball fell to the Rogers Eagles (10-13, 5-6), 53-49, on Feb. 10 for only its second loss in district. The JV Gold lost to Rogers, 29-21, and the JV Blue lost to Rogers as well, 27-25.
