FAIR. Water stained; 48 degrees; 0.01 feet above pool. Blue catfish will be good on shallow windy points. Crappie are fair at night in the river. Expect black bass and white bass to be slow. White bass moved out of the river due to the cold. Yellow catfish are slow.

The Rockdale Tigers (12-15, 6-1) hosted the Little River-Academy Bumblebees (22-8, 6-2) on Friday night at Tiger Gym for the start of the second round of district play.

ROCKDALE SOCCER

The Rockdale soccer teams were in action last week with games against Giddings and La Grange. GIDDINGS— On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers (4-9, 1-5) traveled to Giddings (6-2, 5-1) to play the Lady Buffs. Rockdale fell to the Lady Buffs, 1-0.

THORNDALE BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs (23-4, 8-0) had no trouble extending their win streak to 12 games last week. The Dogs rolled the Rosebud-Lott Cougars (1511, 3-5), 69-29, on Wednesday in Thorndale and they overwhelmed the McDade Bulldogs (3-13, 1-5), 96-25, on the road Friday.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

SAN SABA—The Rockdale powerlifting teams competed in the San Saba meet last week. The boys team finished in fourth place overall, while the girls placed sixth as a team.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL GOLF

CALDWELL—The Rockdale Tigers golf team played its first tournament on Monday at Copperas Hollow in Caldwell. The Tigers shot a 349 as a team and placed third behind Cameron and LaGrange. Mason Lillard won the tournament with a 77.

On Tuesday night in front of a full Tiger Gym, Rockdale senior De’Andre Stephens surpassed 1,000 points for his basketball career as a Tiger. It couldn't have been a better night to reach the 1,000-point milestone with a win over the district rival Cameron Yoe and in front of Tiger Nation.

White bass are fair to 2 pounds up river in areas where shad are concentrated. Blue catfish are good on jug lines fished along windy shorelines.

After a win against the Cameron Yoe (10-13, 2-4) on Tuesday, the Rockdale Tigers (11-15, 5-1) were 5-0 in district hoops. Unfortunately, a loss against a powerful Lexington (16-5, 4-2) team on Friday, ended their winning streak.

ROCKDALE JH BASKETBALL

Last week’s Rockdale Junior High basketball results against Rogers were: • BOYS— Tigers 8A lost, 37-24; Tigers 8B won, 25-20; Tigers 7A won, 46-15; and Tigers 7B lost, 21-16. • GIRLS— Lady Tigers 8A won, 29-20; Lady Tigers 7A lost, 28-5; and the B Team won, 9-6.
