Granger GOOD. Water stained; 82 degrees; 0.15 feet above pool. Black bass are good in shallow main lake cover and up river around cover. Crappie are very good on jigs and minnows fished in 4-16 feet of water around cover. White bass are fair on spoons. Blue catfish are fair on jug lines.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tiger volleyball teams were in action this past week, hosting Franklin on Tuesday and hosting Lexington on Friday. Franklin The Lady Tigers JV won their match against Franklin, while the varsity fell to the Lady Lions.

THURSDAY’S ROCKDALE TIGERS

With the Rockdale Tigers varsity football team having the week off, the sub varsity teams were in action last week. The JV team hosted the Granger Lions at Tiger Stadium on Thursday, with the junior high teams traveling to La Grange to take on the Leopards.

Tiger offense explodes for third win

GROESBECK—The Rockdale Tigers got back in the win column on Friday with a big victory over the Groesbeck Goats, 54-35, at Groesbeck Stadium. The Goats struck first with a 28-yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0. The Tigers responded quickly when they drove the distance of the field.

Thorndale 26, Hempstead 23 The Thorndale Bulldogs defeated the Hempstead Bobcats last week, 26-23. COMING UP— All District 14-2A-D1 teams have an open week this week before they begin district competition on Friday, Oct. 10. Thorndale will host the Mason Punchers at 7 p.m. Oct.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

High school The Rockdale Lady Tiger volleyball team had two games last week and came out with wins in both games. ROGERS— The Lady Tigers visited Rogers on Tuesday and came away victorious beating the Lady Eagles in straight sets.

Junior varsity After being down 21-0 at halftime the Rockdale Tigers JV fought back to get in the game but fell short to Groesbeck, 29-22. TOP PLAYERS— Top offensive performers were Hayze Hamrick, King Knox, Brenden Boyd and McKason Casas.
