THURSDAY’S ROCKDALE TIGERS

Rockdale JV 23, Academy JV 22 The Rockdale Tiger junior varsity football team hosted Academy on Thursday, coming out on top 23-22, after a late touchdown drive and successful two-point conversion. The Tigers were unable to score in the first half, while the Bumblebees put up 8 points.

Tigers need good response to loss

On Friday night Big Blue was defeated by Academy in the first district game of the season. I am sure they want to leave Friday night in the rear view mirror and, of course, look ahead to McGregor. It’s never fun to be on the losing end of any contest.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

DISTRICT CHAMPS— The Rockdale Tigers cross country team competed in the district meet last week with both varsity (above) and JV (at right) placing first in the meet. The varsity will compete in the regional meet in Huntsville this week.

THORNDALE CROSS COUNTRY

CHAMPS AGAIN— Thorndale High School cross country teams took home the district titles last week. The Bulldogs are back-to-back district champs, while the Lady Bulldogs are three-peat district champs.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

High school The Rockdale Tiger Lady Tigers volleyball teams had games last week against Thrall and Academy. ACADEMY— The Lady Tigers traveled to Academy on Tuesday, falling to the Lady Bumblebees in five sets. The JV and freshmen also lost to Academy.
