MILANO BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles (2-12, 1-3) and Lady Eagles (4-23, 1-5) traveled to Rosebud- Lott last week and came out on the losing end—57-37 and 50-28, respectively. THIS WEEK— The Eagles will host the Thorndale Bulldogs (19-4, 4-0) at 8 p.m.

THORNDALE BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs (19-4, 4-0) picked up two more wins last week on the court. They defeated the Granger Lions, 52-31, on Tuesday and the Holland Hornets, 77-22, on Friday. The Bulldogs are in first place in District 27-2A, with an eight-game winning streak.

The NFL and the college football playoffs continue to roll into the deep part of the season. In the NFL, the divisional is next with eight teams remaining in the playoffs. Buffalo and Denver will face off at 3 p.m. Saturday.

THORNDALE POWERLIFTING

TAYLOR—Thorndale powerlif ters returned home with some hardware after participating in Saturday’s meet in Taylor. For the Bulldogs, Jeff Frei (in 148) and Marcus Shaw (in 181) finished in first place, while Nick Markle (in 220) brought home a second.

AREA BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles and Lady Eagles lost against Bartlett on Friday. The Lady Eagles lost, 36-23, while the Eagles fell in their game, 40-28. Thorndale Bulldogs The Thorndale Bulldogs picked up two wins last week in hoops action.

ROCKDALE JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Junior High boys basketball teams were in action last weekend with the seventh grade team winning first place in the Giddings tournament and the eighthgrade team placing second.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tigers soccer team finished third at their third annual Tigers Blue & Gold Cup Invitational Tournament with a win over Hempstead. The boys wrapped the weekend with three wins, a tie, and a hard-fought semifinal loss in penalty kicks.

Tigers begin district 2-0

The Rockdale Tigers basketball team went 2-0 this past week to start district play. ACADEMY— The Tigers traveled to Academy Tuesday and beat the Bumblebees, 65-55, on their home court.
