ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Rockdale competed in the regional track meet over the weekend with great success. • Freshman Jonathan Fuller qualified for the state meet in the 3200m with a time of 10:12.94, finishing second overall. He also ran in the 1600m and placed ninth with a time of 4:47.

THORNDALE TRACK

STATE BOUND— Thorndale Lady Dog Bethany Preusse continues to crush records and is moving onto state after competing at last week’s regional meet. Preusse is the regional champion in shot and placed second in discus. She set a new regional shot record with a throw of 43-8.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

It’s been a disappointing season for the Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team. They dropped their last two games against Franklin, 10-0 and 17-2. The Lady Tigers are currently winless in district play and will wrap up their season against Thrall.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team is not letting up as the regular season comes to a close. The first place Lady Dogs shut down Granger, 2-0, before hammering Bartlett, 15-0, last week. The last time Thorndale let an opponent score was on April 1.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Lady Eagles softball team came up short last week against Burton losing 7-1. Milano is sitting at 9-2 and second in the district as the regular season closes out. Eagles The Milano baseball team is on fire, winning their last four games. Three out of four of those have been shutouts.

Cong ratulat ion s to Thorndale High School netters who competed in the recent district tournament held in Thrall. Girls’ singles champion was Katelynn Zrubek with Hestin Ellington placing second. Boys’ singles champion was Kolton Zrubek, while Issac Blair was second.

REGION BOUND— Congratulations to Milano Lady Eagle Malina Gordon who had a personal best throw in the discus and is advancing to the regional track meet Saturday at Texas A&M in Kingsville.

Thorndale High School athletes competed in the area track meet held in Flatonia last week with great results with many now headed to the regional meet. Congratulations to: • Lady Dog Bethany Preusse, the new area champion in discus and shot put. • Riley Shock placed third in discus.

Congratulations to the varsity mixed doubles team of Cohen Razo and Aubrey Zientek for placing second in the Thrall Invitational Tournament.  Way to go Mason Lillard and Brody Willard for placing second in boys’ doubles at the Thrall Invitational Tennis Tournament.
