THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

Thorndale Lady Bulldog Jordyn Stutts has won back-to-back state championships in powerlifting. She set three new state records on her way to becoming this year's champion. Stutts set the state record in squats with 415 pounds and bench with 275 pounds.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team suffered two losses last week against number one rival Cameron. At home Big Blue lost 10-1 and in Cameron they lost 8-2.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Eagles baseball team opened district play last week with an 0-2 record as they went against Mumford. The Eagles lost 4-1 on the road and 12-0 at home. UP NEXT— Their next district game was against Iola on the road Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline), before hosting Iola at 6:30 p.m.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale baseball team picked up two wins last week. The Bulldogs beat Rosebud- Lott, 7-3, on the road and they won 12-1 against Granger at home. These were both district games so Thorndale is 2-0 in district play.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

The 67th Rockdale Relays treated RHS with mixed results. The Lady Tigers came in seventh place as a team, while the Tigers placed fourth. The track was kinder to our junior varsity with the boys placing third and the JV girls tied for sixth.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tigers soccer team is on a win streak, having won their last two games and Big Blue is now on the bubble with playoffs. Last week Rockdale beat La Grange 2-0 and Smithville 4-1. In the Smithville game Wilmer Sorto had three scores, Ezequiel Castro scored once.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

March has not been kind to the Big Blue Machine. Since March 1st the Rockdale Tigers are 1-4. The Tigers won against Abbott 5-0 and then went on a four game losing streak—Riesel, 2-0; West, 2-1, Robinson 2-0; and Kerens, 9-3.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team is 7-1 and will start district play during spring break. Nathan Grimm was player of the game last week against Abbott. He was the winning pitcher and led at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs. Thorndale beat Abbott 10-5 in the Abbott Classic Tournament.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

Above, Rockdale Tigers Brody Willard and Mason Lillard came in first place in boys tennis doubles at the Navasota International. At right, the mixed doubles team of Greyson Williams and Emily Zientek placed third in Navasota. Congratulations to these student athletes!

Milano Lady Eagles softballers Kylee Harris and Marissa Balderas each hit home runs in the Franklin Tournament last week.
