WAKE AQUATICS SWIM TEAM

WAKE AQUATICS—The Rockdale Wake Aquatics swim team wants to remind everyone that the first day in the water at the City Pool is Tuesday. Practice times will be from 6:15 to 7 p.m. for ages 10 and under; 8 to 8:45 p.m. for ages 11-18; and 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. for ages 19 and over.

REGIONAL CHAMPS—Way to go Lady Eagles softball team from Lexington on winning the 3A Regional Championship. They will face off this week in San Marcos against Jourdanton for the state semifinals.

Summer camps set by Rockdale Tiger Athletics

Rockdale Tiger Athletics is offering summer camps for the following: • Baseball and Softball— June 2-3 from 9 to 11 a.m. for incoming third through ninth grades. • Boys and Girls Soccer— June 2 and 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. for incoming first through ninth grades.

COLUMBUS—The Thorndale Lady Dogs softballers lost in the regional semifinals last week to Ganado. It only took two games for the Lady Indians to end the season for Thorndale. Final scores were 12-0 and 2-1. Way to go Lady Dogs on another great softball season!

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

KYLE—The Milano Lady Eagles softball team lost in a one-game series against Shiner in the regional semifinal last week, 13-11. Milano finished their season as area champions and were in second place in their district with a 9-2 record. Way to go Lady Eagles! You had a great season!

A correction, an apology and some fun facts

Ihad an epic fail last week by reporting Jonathan Fuller placed second at the state track meet. It’s a long story but I’m so sad I did that and I hope it did not diminish his accomplishment of making it to the state meet as a freshman.
