Baseball, soccer camps kick off summer

Tiger Baseball Camp kicked off the summer for athletes wanting to learn fundamentals from some of the best.

Ingram taking part in Wake Aquatics swim team, events

Athletes like Braxton Ingram are taking advantage of summer sports. Ingram is part of Rockdale’s Wake Aquatics Swim Team. Wake is a competitive swim team that supports rural swimmers and competes in events held in places like Columbus, La Grange, Schulenburg and El Campo.

Milano’s Beathard making impressions in select softball

Milano’s soon-to-be seventh- grader is making an impression on her select travel softball team. Jaylee Rai Beathard plays for Salado’s Aftershock, a team that has a 43-7 record for the spring season. The Aftershock just finished winning the Memorial Day Classic Tournament in Round Rock.

Granger GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 3.80 feet above pool. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits fished in shallow cover. Crappie are good on jigs fished over cover in 12-18 feet of water. White bass are fair on slab spoons fishing windy points and roadbeds.

Ten Bulldogs named All-District

The Thorndale Bulldog baseball team is picking up awards now that the season has come to a close.

TGCA All-Star

Congratulations to Thorndale Lady Dog Karis Ginn, who has been selected to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s All-Star softball game on June 25.  

Orangefield too much for the Tigers

RHS BASEBALL The Rockdale Tigers historic baseball season came to an end last week when the Orangefield Bobcats—in a very business-like way—beat the Tigers on both Wednesday and Thursday. The series took place at the Cypress Woods High School. The facility was great and the weather was good.
