MILANO SOFTBALL

The Lady Eagles finished regular season play last week by beating Holland on the road, winning 11-4. Milano finished second in district with a record of 11-5. The Lady Eagles will move on to postseason play this week in Belton to play Goldthwaite on Friday and Saturday.

REGIONAL GOLF— Milano Eagle golfer Daniel Frei competed at the regional golf tournament in Corpus Christi last week.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dogs finished their regular season last week with a win over Rosebud-Lott. The victory included Karis Ginn hitting a home run. COMING UP— Thorndale finished 15-1 and will face Mason in postseason play starting Friday with games at 5 and 7 p.m. at Lago Vista High School.

On March 23, a team made up of Mike Nader, Kyle Brewer, Nobel Little and Monte Taylor (right, top) took home the first-place prize of $500 at the 33rd annual Noon Lions Scholarship Golf Tournament held at Rockdale Country Club.

SUPER ELITE— Congratulations to Thorndale Bulldog senior guard Kaden Kovar who was recently selected to the THSCA 2A Basketball Super Elite Team.

REGIONAL TOURNAMENT— Both the Thorndale Bulldog and the Thorndale Lady Bulldog varsity golf teams will be participating in the regional tournament in Corpus Christi this week.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The troubles continue on the softball field for the Rockdale Lady Tigers, as they dropped both of their games against the Troy Trojans last week. No doubt it is a frustrating season for these student athletes. The Blue & Gold lost 11-1 and 10-0.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Last week the Thornale Bulldogs clinched a playoff spot with their 6-1 win over Milano. Later in the week Thorndale took on Granger and beat them 12-2.

The Mi l ano L ady Eagles are on a streak, winning all three of their games last week. The team is currently 10-5 in district play and in second place in the standings. They had a big win against Thorndale, who was unbeaten in district before this loss, that ended in a final score of 9-2.

ROCKDALE SOCCER

Former Rockd a le T i ge r and current Rockdale Head Soccer Coach Gilberto Rodr iguez was recently recognized as Coach of the Year in District 24-4A. Coach Rodriguez started Rockdale’s soccer program in 2017. This year the Tigers made postseason play and had an 18-win season.
