AUSTIN—The Court of Appeals in Austin on Friday upheld the 12-year sentence given a 53-year-old Rockdale man in 2008. R ick y L ee Murray was assessed that sentence by 20th District Ju d g e Jo h n Yo u n g b l o o d after a sentencing hearing and a pre-sentence investigation.

Health care future topic for Thursday

Spring Break ‘Rock the Park’ set for Saturday

With all area schools, including Rockdale, getting out for Spring Break this week, the City of Rockdale has scheduled a “Rock the Park” event for Saturday at Fair Park. The event, which runs from 3 to 8 p.m.

POSGCD workshops set for Friday in Milano

MILANO—The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) will host a pair of workshops Friday at its Milano headquarters. Rainwater Harvesting 101 will be held from 10 a.m. to 12-noon, with Turf Management to follow from 12:20 to 2:30 p.m.

Farmers Market back with new location

The Rockdale Farmers Market is coming back for a new season and will be at a new location. After a winter’s hiatus, the market will resume on Saturday (March 7) at its new “home,” the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, 1203 West Cameron (US 79). Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 12-noon.
