RHS senior Bert Hale III received his Eagle Scout badge at St. John’s United Methodist Church in front of family, friends and fellow members of Troop 790. Hale received the award while standing with his grandfather, Arthur Davis. and his mother Trelsa Davis.
Meadowbrook Baptist
holds grief seminar
Meadowbrook Baptist Church will sponsor a weekly GriefShare recovery workshop from Jan. 13 to April 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“This program is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend,” according to program director Malda Burns.
RCS food pantry
Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

Bad to the Bone Riders and the 14th Annual Buddy Oney Toy Run presented Milam County Sheriff Chris White with a $950 check for the Sheriff’s Department Brown Santa program recently. That represented Brown Santa’s share of the approximately $8,000 raised for children-oriented entities by the run.
Master Naturalists set training class
El Camino Real Master naturalists will host training beginning Jan. 16 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hermit Haus in Cameron on Thursday evenings.
The class is a joint effort of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program.
