Water fix plan takes next step

A permanent fix for Rock-dale’s red water woes may be one step closer as the Rockdale City Council on Monday okayed applying for $45,090,000 in Texas Water Development Grant funds for a system overhaul.

Vehicle, foot chase ends with arrests Monday evening

HOUSE FIRE

—The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department attacked a Sunday afternoon house fire at 723 West Bell from all angles. Volunteers responded at 12:24 p.m. to the home of Mary Glenn and her son, John. The RVFD was able to keep the damage confined to the bedroom where the blaze started.
