The 91st Battle of ‘79 was truly a battle this past Friday night in Thrall with the home team scoring the only touchdown in overtime to beat Thorndale 42-35. The Tigers, who are 2-3 in district play, fired first with a push down the field that led to a one-yard touchdown by Tyreke Irvin.

On Tuesday, the Texas Association Basketball Coaches released their pre-season rankings to the public with Thorndale ranked 11th in Class 2A. The Bulldogs have all but one rotation player returning and are coming off a dramatic first-round exit to eventual state tourney finalist Schulenburg, 51-47.

RJH FOOTBALL

RJH football teams went 2-1 in Taylor on Thursday evening with the eighth grade “A” winning 16-14. Both Tiger touchdowns were a Brody Willard to De’andre Nunn connection with one in the second quarter and another in the third.
