THS leatherheads play at Lexington

Thorndale 7-on-7 battled in a tough pool this weekend at the state qualifier in Chilton, with the Bulldog athletes falling 19-14 and 21-20 to Class 3A programs Riesel and New Waverly. They also faced Buffalo, who beat them 28-14.

Clark headed to Philly

Last week, it was reported by msn. com that Rockdale native Le’Raven Clark would be leaving the Indianapolis Colts after four seasons to join the Philadelphia Eagles. The RHS Class of 2011 grad signed a one-year deal with the Eagles, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

7-on-7 action rescheduled for Thursday

Due to inclement weather all around the state, Rockdale’s seven-on-seven squad wasn’t able to play in Needville’s State Qualifier Tournament this past Saturday. Games have been moved to Thursday w it h pool play beginning at 4 p.m., and the state qualifying round kicking off f at 6:15.

King awarded with Lone Star honors

Rockdale High School graduate Frances King finished up her second collegiate season being named to the Lone Star Conference’s Second Team after averaging 11.2 points, 4 assists and 3.6 rebounds in the 18 games that she started during the 2020-21 season for Midwestern State University.

Thorndale gets in on spring football

Under former head coach Scott Hawkins, the Thorndale Bulldog football team threw the ball only 28 times during the entire 2019 season.

McCoy, Pesl top Thorndale athletes

This past Sunday afternoon at Thorndale Volunteer Fireman’s Recreational Hall, THS junior Branson McCoy and senior Ashley Pesl were named Outstanding Male and Female athlete at the school’s athletic banquet.

MILANO ALUMNI SOFTBALL GAME

Milano High School is hosting an Alumni Softball game scheduled for Friday, June 18. Former Lady Eagles interested in participating will need to fill out a form available on the Milano ISD Facebook page. The cost to play is $20 which includes a free shirt for the player.

RHS honors Cleveland at annual athletic banquet

Last Tuesday, Rockdale High School observed the memory of super fan Joe Wayne Cleveland at the school’s annual athletic banquet by announcing they were naming their film deck after him.

Playoff action: Season ends for Thorndale teams

Lady Dog softball was outmatched in Wednesday’s area round showdown at Texas A&M’s Davis Diamond, where they fell 10-7 to Bremond, a team they’d defeated twice during their District 27-2A schedule. “The bottom line is that they outplayed us,” said coach Lance Betak.
