Thorndale tennis teams came home from the District 27-2A tourney in Thrall Monday with a girls team championship, 11 medals and a second place finish for the boys.

Lady Eagles show their fight in 4-3 loss to ranked Granger

On Thursday evening, the young Milano High School softball team proved they could hang with some of the top teams in the state when they fell to Granger, the 25th-ranked team in Class 2A, 4-3 in a neck-and-neck contest on the road.

Thorndale teams beat Bartlett, Rosebud-Lott

Thorndale got hot early Thursday evening on their home field when junior Logan Davis blasted a three-run homer off of Rosebud-Lott pitcher Nicholas Bravo to bring the Bulldog lead up from 1-0 to 4-0.

RHS hosts tennis tourney Friday The Rockdale High School tennis team will host Salado and Thrall for a tennis tourney on Friday. The tournament, originally intended for late February, was canceled due to the Texas snowstorm that occurred during that week.

RHS battles in Cameron

Although the Lady Tigers fell to rival Cameron 17-7 Thursday evening, they made the team from across the river earn their win, making up for a 11-1 loss to Lady Yoe in a district opener where RHS only had three hits on March 9.

Delgadillo released from hospital

Coming home from Rockdale Junior High’s track meet Thursday evening, Rockdale ISD athletes Yovanney and Izabella Delgadillo were involved in a three-motor-vehicle accident near FM 1712 and US 77, confirmed by Ernie Glenn, chief of the Minerva Volunteer Fire Department.
