RHS powerlifting at Salado Feb. 20th Tiger and Lady Tiger powerlifting teams have much of the month of February off but return to the gym to compete on Thursday, Feb. 20, for the Salado Eagle Invitational.

Loth finishes fifth out of 42 at season opening tourney

RHS golfers opened up the season with a two day tourney in Navasota where 2019 state qualifiers Ross Loth placed fifth out of 42 boys and Whitley Boyd placed 12th out of 32 girls. “I thought they played well,” said coach Ethan Noel.

MHS teams prepare for Hearne

Both Milano teams fell to Mumford on Friday night with the Lady Eagles losing 54-23 and the Eagles falling 70-45 right after. THIS WEEK–They had Tuesday off but face Hearne at the Geneva Paceley Gym on Friday evening. Tip-off for the girls is at 6:15 p.m., with the boys at 7:30.

Tigers get first win in battle at Lexington

Tiger players and fans celebrated in the Lexington High School Gymnasium Friday evening following the Blue-and-Gold’s first district win over the Eagles, 68-64. Head coach Marcus McNeil was also excited, but was focused on moving on to the next one.

Musto qualifies for regionals

Lady Tiger powerlifter Mackenzie Musto secured her third straight trip to the Region II powerlifting meet at the Elgin Wildcat Invitational on Saturday, Musto surpassed a total lifted weight of 720 pounds, which automatically qualifies any women powerlifters in the 132-pound weight class.

RHS soccer starts district

For the third straight match, the Lady Tigers ended the game with a score of 0-0 when they faced Mexia on Friday night. “The girls are playing hard and improving every day,” RHS coach Kaitlyn Brinkley said. “They come out every game and practice ready for whatever is thrown at them.

Milano teams lose in Holland

On Friday evening, Milano fought back in a 56-49 loss to Holland. The Eagles got off to a slow start, trailing 15-3 at the end of the first but closed the gap and made it interesting with a season-record 10 three-pointers. Ethan Gordon made four and Layne Telg and Jayce Todd each made three.

Lady tigers sweep cameron 48-28

Rockdale’s Lady Tiger basketball team got their third district win on Tuesday after taking down visiting Cameron 48-28 thanks to a strong second half. “I just felt like we played well,” said RHS coach Meredith Caffey. “W e always play up for Cameron and I ’m really proud of them.
