A joint open house between the MARC Center and the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce was held at MARC last Tuesday. It was a chance for people who donate to the MARC Ride to see what the center does with the money.

Matinee Musical Club kicks off September meeting with songs

The Matinee Musical Club held its September meeting at First Presbyterian Church with Gloria Walker, Victoria Everett and Donnie Rinn as co-hostesses. Twelve members and one associate member were present. Refreshments were served.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lion’s Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

RHS Class of 1968 reunion set for Oct. 7 The Class of 1968 will have a reunion at the Rockdale Country Club on Oct. 7 beginning at 10 a.m. “For those in other classes who would like to visit us, please come between 1:30 and 3 p.m. for a visit. We welcome you,” said Debby Currey, organizer.

About 150 people came to Wolf Park on Thursday evening to enjoy Rockdale Earth Day’s A Night of Peace celebration. Rockdale Earth Day Chairman David Melton gave the welcome address followed by a reading on peace by Rockdale High School students.
