Hope all of you had a nice Labor Day. Monday was kind of a bad day for a holiday. If you have Saturday, Sunday and Monday off, who wants to get up and go to work on Tuesday?

The story of Jesus’ compassion shown in the Gospel of John about feeding the five thousand with a little boys lunch, paints a vivid picture of God taking the little we have to offer so people can see him through us.
In the 28th chapter of Genesis it is told how Jacob was traveling and had stopped at night in the wilderness to sleep. The story says that as Jacob dreamed, “The LORD stood by him” and spoke promises to him: “Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go.” When Jacob awoke, he said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”
God tells us in Isaiah 43:18-21, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”
