Can you believe 2021 is about to be half gone? That means I have another milestone coming up—my birthday. I am so thankful for each day and the activities I can still do on a regular schedule. Fresh vegetables are really good these days. I’m “retired” from cooking but Kelly and Leah do a great job.

More than 100 people attended the annual Rockdale Homecoming Association’s homecoming celebration Sunday in the Patterson Civic Center.

High ratings

On May 7, members of the Rockdale Junior High School Symphonic and Beginning bands participated in the Rockdale ISD Solo and Ensemble Contest. Students received superior and excellent ratings from the judges.

RHS band students honored at concert

At the Rockdale Independent School District Bands Spring Concert last month in the high school gym 12 students were honored for their work over the past school year.

Top graduates of area high schools

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL—The top graduates had GPAs that ranged from 4.26 to 3.71 at the end of their high school career. Those top graduates are Arianna Eastridge, daughter of Antoinette Martinez with a 4.26; Kaitlyn Rash, daughter of Russell Rash with a 4.

Area students rewarded with scholarships

Rockdale Fair Association awarded the following scholarships recently: • Abigail Mayer received a $2,000 scholarship. She is the daughter of Trey and Frieda Mayer. She graduated from the C.H. Yoe High School. She plans to attend Angelo State University. Her major will be agricultural business.

Vaccination clinics planned in Rockdale, Cameron

Milam County will have a walk-in clinic in downtown Cameron at the Health Department on Thursday. On Friday there will be a walk-in Pfizer clinic in Rockdale at the former Medical Clinic. “This will be great chance to get any child 12 years of age or older vaccinated.
