Abbott set to sign bill limiting abortions

Gov. Greg Abbott has said he will sign a bill that effectively bans abortions after six weeks after the Senate concurred in House modifications to SB 8, known as the Texas “heartbeat” bill. That measure, by Mineola Sen.

Milam County 4-H competed in the Ag Product ID Contest on April 16 in Leon County. They came away with honors and one team will be advancing to state in June.

Texas population growth adds 2 U.S. House seats

The U.S. Census Bureau announced April 26 that the 2020 Census shows the resident population of the United States on April 1, 2020, was 331,449,281. Texas will gain two seats in the House of Representatives as a result of the new count. The U.S.
