Trail Life open house set for August 30th

Alcoa Retirees meeting September 9

Rockdale Alcoa Retirees will hold a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall (formerly known as the VFW Hall) at 5 p.m. A barbecue meal will be served after the meeting. Plates are $15 at the door. Donations for hall rental will be accepted.

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St. The meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

Municipal Development District to bring Chick-fil-A truck to Rockdale

The Rockdale MDD will host a Chick-fil-A food truck Monday. The truck will be in the MDD parking lot at 134 N. Main Street in Rockdale. The truck has a limited menu will be there from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until sold out.

Rising number of area COVID-19 cases prompts museum closure

Milam County Railroad Museum and Old Town Cameron is currently closed due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in Milam, Travis, Bell and Williamson counties. Staff is monitoring information from the Milam County Health Departments in those counties due to the traffic we receive from them.

COVID-19 cases still going up

Sunday, Milam County reported 17 new PCR cases and 15 discharged PCR cases for a net increase of two.  There was one new probable case and five discharged probable cases for a net decrease of four.  There are 153 confirmed active cases in the county.
