Wake Aquatics holds ceremony

On Saturday evening, Wake Aquatics, a youth swimming club based in Rockdale held an awards ceremony to congratulate all members.

Trahan signs with Hill College

On Friday, Reagyn Trahan announced that she plans to continue her softball career at Hill College, just north of Waco. The Thorndale senior said that the decision to head to the Hillsboro school was basically a no-brainer. “My decision to go to Hill was the easiest decision I have made,” she said.

RHS cross country hosts meet Friday

Last week, Tiger and Lady Tiger distance runners began preparing for the 2021 season under fifth-year coach Cheryl Meuth. “We have a very exciting group of runners,” Meuth told The Reporter this week.

RHS distance crew back at it

For more than a week now, the Rockdale High School cross country team has been running around town and getting back into gear for the 2021 season. Although both teams missed out on the regional meet last season, both the Tigers and Lady Tigers only lost a total of two seniors.

On Monday night, Rockdale High School held “Meet the Tigers,” the district’s annual event to celebrate the beginning of the school year with an opportunity for the community to meet all the coaches, sponsors and students involved in fall athletics.

Grice brings home gold medal

While many of his classmates were putting their pads on for their first high school football practice, incoming RHS freshman Timothy Grice was in pursuit of a national championship at the AAU Track and Field Championships in Houston last week.

Lady Tigers start scrimmaging

RHS volleyball got their season off to a start this past weekend with two scrimmages two days in a row and head coach Kelsey Hudson likes the way her team performed. “I felt like we competed well in our scrimmages this past weekend,” she said.

Lady Tiger volleyball held their first official practice with 43 girls attending on Monday morning in the RHS Gymnasium where head coach Kelsey Hudson implied that she liked the way things were going.

Due to inclement weather, the Rockdale Tigers began their football season on the floor of the RJH Gymnasium. The guys ended up returning to Tiger Stadium Tuesday morning to better weather where they performed drills and scrimmaged to get the team back into gear.
