Lady Dogs receive recognition

Last week, Thorndale seniors Emilee Baker and Kelsey Kovar, were featured in Rivals.com’s list of top softball players in the state of Texas.

Milam County showdown

For the 17th time in school history, the Thorndale Bulldogs beat the Milano Eagles in football. This time, it was in a 49-0 shutout at MHS on Friday. The Bulldogs were quick to score as senior Stryker Leschber blocked a punt return that he took into the end zone.

Rivalry: Lady Dogs fall in Thrall

Lady Dog volleyball ended Saturday afternoon with their first district loss, falling 24-26, 9-25, 20-25 to rival Thrall, the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s seventh-ranked team in Class 2A.

MHS on two-game winning streak

As of Saturday afternoon, Lady Eagle volleyball is on a two-game winning streak after sweeping Buckholts 25-11, 25-12, 25-13. Malinda Gordon and Karyme Santana led at the net with five kills each.

RJH teams fall short in Bellville

Rockdale’s eighth grade “A” team led early in Bellville after Camden Huff’s three-yard touchdown but three Brahma touchdowns in the second and third quarter were too much for the Tigers as they lost 22-14.

Tigers fly like an Eagle in second win

Tiger football avenged last season’s loss to Lexington with a 35-14 home win Friday in large part to the duo of quarterback Blaydn Barcak and receiver Robert Owens, who linked up for three of the team’s five touchdowns.
