Rockdale JV falls 34-28 after early scoring from La Grange

On Thursday evening, Rockdale High School's junior varsity football team got off to a slow start in their season opener at home with Class 4A La Grange but stayed with the Leopards in what was eventually a 34-28 loss.

Open season: Tigers ready for La Grange

To help prepare for the upcoming season, the Rockdale coaching staff decided it was better to do something a little more innovative for their second and final scrimmage as opposed to the conventional 11-on-11 a spectator might come and see in any given scrimmage.

RHS hosts tourney this weekend

After starting off the season hot with a 6-2 record, the Lady Tigers ran into some tough competion this past weekend at the Bastrop Tournament. RHS fell to Round Rock’s Cedar Ridge High School 15-25, 10-25 and host Bastrop 16-25, 30-28, 15-25.

On Friday morning, the Tiger and Lady Tiger cross country teams began their season at home, hosting a meet at Apache Pass.

Thorndale, Milano gearing up for 2021 season openers

On Friday evening, Thorndale scrimmaged with Class 3A Riesel at Bulldog Stadium. The Thorndale Bulldogs have some more dogs coming over this Friday when they host the Dawson Bulldogs.

Rockdale girls compete at Jr. Olympics

Competing with Lexington’s summer track team the LC Express, four Rockdale girls left the Junior Olympics in Humble with medals. Ki’ara-Ann Jones placed in the top five of the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay, while Tatyana Everage placed in the shot put.

Cat fight: Tigers scrimmage Cougars

With just two starters on offense and four on defense returning from the 2020 Tiger football team, many of those new players had their first time facing varsity competition this past Friday in Jarrell, where Rockdale had it’s first scrimmage of the season.

Lady Tigers take gold in Franklin

In what was their first tournament of the season, the Lady Tiger volleyball team left Franklin with a first place finish after fighting through close matches throughout their two-day stint in Robertson County.
