Leopards run past Tigers on last play, 35-29

For Rockdale fans deprived of high school football over the past nine months, last Friday night at Tiger Stadium was everything a spectator probably could’ve asked for. It was a close contest where neither team led by more than a touchdown with an outcome decided on the last play of the game.

RHS named honorable mention

Lady Tiger volleyball went 4-1 this weekend at their own tournament where they were host to 12 different schools ranging from Mumford to Austin’s Travis High School.

Bocanegra wins it all in Thrall

On Saturday morning, Rockdale High School cross country teams traveled across the Williamson County line to compete at Thrall where RHS sophomore Jesus Bocanegra won the varsity boys’ race with a time of 17:46.23.

Thorndale: Dogs eat Dogs, 27-0

Thorndale Bulldog football started their season off hot Friday at home when they defeated Dawson 27-0 thanks to scoring three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter.

Milano shutout in opener

In what was the debut for both teams’ head coaches, it was Valley Mills coach Robert Featherston who came out on top over Milano’s Nick Morehead 41-0 in the season opener Friday at Milano’s home stadium.

Rockdale JV falls 34-28 after early scoring from La Grange

On Thursday evening, Rockdale High School's junior varsity football team got off to a slow start in their season opener at home with Class 4A La Grange but stayed with the Leopards in what was eventually a 34-28 loss.

Open season: Tigers ready for La Grange

To help prepare for the upcoming season, the Rockdale coaching staff decided it was better to do something a little more innovative for their second and final scrimmage as opposed to the conventional 11-on-11 a spectator might come and see in any given scrimmage.

RHS hosts tourney this weekend

After starting off the season hot with a 6-2 record, the Lady Tigers ran into some tough competion this past weekend at the Bastrop Tournament. RHS fell to Round Rock’s Cedar Ridge High School 15-25, 10-25 and host Bastrop 16-25, 30-28, 15-25.

On Friday morning, the Tiger and Lady Tiger cross country teams began their season at home, hosting a meet at Apache Pass.
