Milam Country is grieving after former Cameron Yoe running back Traion Smith drowned in a fishing accident Sunday.
RHS Freshman Jesus Bocanegra’s stellar season came to a close on Monday as he participated in the Cross Country 3A State Meet. He finished 78th with a time of 17:36 in a five kilometer run.
The RHS boys’ basketball season is set to unfold today and the guys are fired up about playing. With the team finishing with a record of 7-22 last season, the Tigers expect to turn things around and make a run towards a playoff spot. RHS Head Coach Marcus McNeil will be going into his second season at Rockdale. The Reporter sat down with Coach McNeil to discuss this year’s expectations.
The Lady Tigers earned their first win of the season on Saturday as they defeated the Milano Lady Eagles 52-27. Karli Marburger led the Lady Tigers with 12 points. Other top scorers included D’Erika Hurd 10, Ciara Miles 7, Miah Beckwith 6 and Julie Bartsch 6.

Even so, many people face these types of issues daily and choose to keep pressing forward, rather than giving up on their goals. One man who overcame such feats is Irish Olympic gymnast Kieran Behan.
