The Rockdale Country Club hosted its fourth annual Rockgusta Two-Man Scramble over the weekend, with 55 two-man teams (110 golfers) competing across five flights. Tucker Tovar and Jakob Mikel captured the tournament’s Championship Flight title. Cameron Scitern and W.E.

Two Thorndale Lady Dogs have been recognized by the Texas Sports Writers Association with Class 2A All-State softball honors following the 2026 season. Jaycee Cruz was selected to the TSWA Class 2A Third Team All-State squad, while Malayya Dodson received honorable mention recognition.

With the summer months passing, Tiger football will be here before we know it. With equipment issuance less than two weeks away, the Rockdale Tigers will have their first practice from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3 at Tiger Field. Additional preseason workouts are scheduled through Aug.

Thorndale volleyball tryouts set for Aug. 1 Thorndale High School volleyball players will officially begin preparations for the 2026 season with tryouts on Saturday, Aug. 1. Tr youts will be used for team placement, with 10th-12th grade athletes scheduled from 8 to 9 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.

Registration is underway for the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association's 2026 Fall Ball season, with signups continuing through July 31. The league is open to players ages 3-14 and includes six divisions: 4U Wrangler, 6U Shetland, 8U Pinto, 10U Mustang, 12U Bronco and 14U Pony.

The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) wrapped up its inaugural Adult Coed Softball League this past weekend with an end-of-season tournament at Manuel Garcia Field in Rockdale. Six teams competed in the tournament after an eight-team league completed its first season.
