Thorndale announces important dates for upcoming fall athletics

Thorndale ISD has released several important dates and reminders for student-athletes preparing for the upcoming fall sports season. Drug testing for student-athletes is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 12-noon July 28-29 at the Thorndale Middle School Gym.

RYBA hosting end-of-season adult softball tournament noon Sunday

The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association will host its Adult Softball End-of-Season Tournament on Sunday at the youth baseball fields. Tournament games will begin at 12-noon, with community members invited to come out and support the participating teams. Food will be available during the event.

Rockdale High School volleyball team camp to be held July 21-23

Rockdale High School will host its Volleyball Team Camp July 21-23 for area athletes looking to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming season. The camp will be held from 4-6 p.m. each day and will be led by Rockdale coaches Tuyo and Pozsgai.

Fit 22 Football Camp approaching Saturday

Student-athletes still have time to register for the annual Fit 22 Football Camp, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Rockdale.

‘Meet the Tigers’ set for Aug. 7

The Ro ckd a le community is invited to kick off the new school year by attending Meet the Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the Rockdale High School Gym.

Rockdale High School to hold fall sports parent meeting July 30th

Rockdale High School will host its annual Fall Sports Parent Meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 30, in the RHS Cafeteria. The meeting is for parents of students participating in football, volleyball, cross-country and team tennis during the upcoming fall season.

Thorndale Lady Dog softball standout Malayya Dodson, a junior and District 27-2A Pitcher of the Year, has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Softball Top 50 Team.
