The Thorndale Junior High girls cross-country team won the eighthgrade division at the La Grange Middle School Invitational on Sept. 16. The Lady Dogs scored 54 points in the two-mile race at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

The Rockdale Lady Tigers (6-20, 0-4) dropped varsity volleyball matches at Cameron (22-10, 1-3) on Tuesday and at home against Caldwell (13-20, 3-1) on Friday. CAMERON— Rockdale fell to Cameron in three sets, 21-23, 23-25 and 19-25.

Tiger Jonathan Fuller placed seventh to lead the Rockdale High School boys cross-country team at the Hoka McNeil Invitational on Friday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Fuller completed the 1A-3A boys 5,000-meter race in 16 minutes, 59.30 seconds.

Bulldogs rally past Mildred, remain unbeaten

MILDRED—Thorndale overcame an early two-touchdown deficit and outscored Mildred 21-14 in the fourth quarter to capture a 49-42 road victory Friday. The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 with the win and completed an unbeaten pre-district schedule. Mildred suffered its first loss and dropped to 3-1.

Eagles open district play Friday

Milano returns from its open week Friday when the Eagles host Burton in the District 13-2A Division II opener for both teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Pruitt Field. Milano enters district play with an 0-3 record, while Burton is 1-1.
