66 answer opening practice call

The Rockdale Tigers opened preseason football practice Monday morning, with 66 players reporting for the first workout at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers will practice from 6 to 9 a.m. each day through Saturday before continuing workouts next Monday through Wednesday.

AAU JUNIOR NATIONALS— Three Rockdale Lady Tiger volleyball players competed in the 2026 AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Florida. Kyndal Selgelid (L), competing with Texas Legends 16 Black, finished ninth out of 153 teams.

Three teams tie atop alumni golf tourney

Rockdale Country Club hosted the annual Rockdale Alumni Golf & Friends Tournament over the weekend, with 53 golfers competing on 10 teams in the event. Three teams finished tied for the tournament championship after each carded a 12-under-par 60, forcing a playoff to determine the final standings.

SALT-Wake sends 21 to national competition

Twenty-one swimmers from the Smallest Aquatic League of Texas (SALT) and Rockdale’s Wake Aquatics will represent Texas at the 2026 State Games of America in State College, Pennsylvania.
