Two Thorndale Lady Dog basketball players, Kyla Daniell and Allyson Gerren, were selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Class 2A Academic All-State Team.

GRANGER— The firstplace Thorndale Bulldogs (11-3, 7-1) hosted playoff contender Granger (10-6-1, 6-3) in last week’s early game. It was tight early, but the Bulldogs scored late to defeat the Lions, 9-2. Thorndale’s players of the game were starting pitcher Kade Becker and center fielder Will Cloud.

Third-place boys doubles team of Mason Lillard and Brody Willard finished off their senior year falling to a seasoned Academy team in the district semi-finals (6-3, 6-1) late Monday afternoon.

The Rockdale Tigers basebal l and sof tbal l teams faced the Franklin Lions last week with Franklin sweeping all four games. On Tuesday the Lady Tigers (9-15, 0-10) lost to the Lady Lions (18-8-2, 7-3), 11-0, and on Friday, 15-5.

Anglers catch hundreds of record-setting fish in 2025

Anglers from Texas and across the nation set numerous fishing records in Texas waters via the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Angler Recognition Program (ARP) in 2025. The angler with the most 2025 catch awards was Charles Dewey of Universal City with 52.

Sorto chosen District 24-4A MVP, other Tigers named All-District

Ten Rockdale Tiger soccer players received District 24-4A honors this year. The Tigers finished the season 14-9-1 overall and 10-6 in the district.

THORNDALE TRACK & FIELD

Thorndale’s Bethany Preusse brought home a gold medal and a silver medal from last week’s Charles Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin. She claimed first place in shot put with a throw of 44-6 and second place in discus with a throw of 153-6.
