Somerville defeats Eagles

MILANO—The Milano Eagles fought it out on a cold, rainy homecoming night against the powerhouse Yeguas from Somerville. The Eagles hung tough but fell short, the final score was Somerville 34, Milano 22. Somerville completed an undefeated district season and are the District 13-2A DII champions.

Bulldogs swat Holland

Thorndale set to face Riesel in bi-district action THORNDALE—Thorndale ended their regular season with a big win over Holland. The final score was 18-13. Running back Noah Crabtree scored the Bulldogs’ first touchdown by scooting in from four yards out.

BI-DISTRICT CHAMPS— The Thorndale Lady Dogs traveled to Giddings last week to take on the Snook Blue Jays in a bi-district matchup that ended with a big win in straight sets, 25-19, 25-9, 25-20.

Lady Tigers volleyballers recognized

Congratulations to the following Rockdale Lady Tiger volleyball team members who were recently recognized as THSCA Academic All-State student/ athletes. • Macy McDaniel was named to the Elite Team. • Molly Moody was recognized as Second Team.

SEASON WRAP— Rockdale Tiger JV team member Jonathan Fuller pulling in a pass. The Rockdale JV finished 6-4 this season. The Rockdale Junior High eighth-grade team wrapped up their season 0-9, while the seventh- grade squad was 5-2-1.

Troy thrashes Tigers in home finale

It was a slugfest for the first quarter of the match up against the Troy Trojans last Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Each team put up an amazing number of points in the first quarter— after 12 minutes the Tigers even had the lead, 28-21.

Bulldogs take down Harper

HARPER—Thorndale traveled to Harper last Friday and they put the Longhorns down 40-25. The Bulldogs came out in a scoring frenzy putting 20 points on the board in the first quarter. Quarterback Gunner Ferguson found Kade Becker for a 19-yard touchdown strike. Becker then kicked the extra point.
