FOOD BANK

—Over 100 people received food last Thursday at the Central Texas Food Bank distribution at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The food bank distributes food every third Thursday of the month and fresh produce every first Thursday of the month.

For the second time in 10 months, the Milam County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Attorney General’s office Child Exploitation Unit have teamed up to charge a Rockdale-area resident with possession of child pornography.

Domino’s delivers (restaurant) to Rockdale

Another national chain is planning to open a pizza restaurant in Rockdale. Domino’s is working on the former AAA Medical Oxygen Supply—next to Tractor Supply in the former Walmart building at 1500 West Cameron—and looks to open sometime in mid-fall, according to owner Mike Schweitzer.

RISD trustees get objectives updates

Assistant Superintendent Pam Kaufmann and Rockdale ISD principals presented overviews of their objectives for the 2019-2020 school year Monday as the school board met in regular monthly session. RHS principal Tiffany Whitsel said her focus was on continuing to improve English scores at her campus.
