Seven cases in district court

CAMERON—Seven cases were handled last week in Milam County 20th District Court, including one jury trial which will see sentencing next month, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.

Two ‘resisting’ charges filed

POLICE REPORT Police made two felony arrests during the week with both ending up as “resisting arrest” cases. Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police served five Milam County warrants Saturday and ended up adding a resisting arrest charge.

Second Cameron manhunt in 7 days

SHERIFF’S REPORT For the second time in seven days, law enforcement officers are on the lookout for a suspect who fled on foot from the Cameron area.

Burning question

“Where was the smoke coming from?” was a question a number of downtown Rockdale area residents were asking Thursday morning. Police and The Reporter received calls but it turned out to be something which anyone could have solved by going to the City of Rockdale’s website.

—That’s the direction construction at the new Rockdale Police Department went on Tuesday. Assisted by a crane, workers hoisted the new PD’s communications tower as the project enters its final phases.

He told me to tell you that I’m reading through a One Year New Testament. One the verses that hit me hard was Matthew 9:24b, “But the crowd laughed at Him.” The “him” is Jesus. They laughed because a little girl had died and Jesus told them she was only “asleep.
