Fourteen sentenced in district court

CAMERON—Fourteen persons were sentenced last week in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey, who listed them as follows: • Johnny Ray Smith, 37, Calvert, five-year prison term, pleaded guilty to assault bodily injury–family violence with previous conviction.

MCT plans weekend of play performances CAMERON—Milam Community Theater plans four performances of “Same Time Next Year” April 26-29 in the Williams Civic Center in Cameron. Performances are set for 7 p.m. April 26, 27 and 28, and 2 p.m. April 29.

Major damages in two accidents during past week

POLICE REPORT Rockdale police investigated two highway accidents with heavy damaged on successive days Friday and Saturday. No serious injuries were reported to police but Friday afternoon “rush hour” was slowed after one of the mishaps, which involved three vehicles. That occurred at 4:07 p.m.

MILANO NEWS The Milano Senior Citizens group regrets to announce that its monthly jamboree has been canceled until further notice. The Milano Country Junction Jamboree was held once a month at the Milano Civic Center and included live country and gospel music.
