He told me to tell you that I pray and I pray a lot (I’m a pastor and it’s what we do). One of the components of prayer is petitioning (asking). I ask and I ask a lot because a guy named James told me, “You do not have because you do not ask (James 4:2b).” One of the things I ask for is help.

ROCKDALE CHRISTIAN SERVICES

RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

Special week The 2019 Rockdale Fair was special to a lot of people, none more than 91-year-old Claude Spence.

Thursday Reading Club members met in San Gabriel at the home of Carol Simank for their Oct. meeting. Members of the yearbook committee served as co-hostesses. Barbara Nelson gave further details for the planned trip to the Dallas Arboretum on Dec.

REUNIONS

Class of 1 slates 30th reunion session The class of 1989 will hold their 30th reunion during the Oct 25-27 weekend. Scheduled events include the Batle of the Bell hoe football game against Cameron, a social get-together at The ranch Sat. evening and visits to local restaurants.
