Milano Veterans Day program set for Monday in Paceley Gym

Milano I SD will host its annual Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 at Geneva Paceley Gym. The program begins at 10 a.m. and all veterans and their family in attendance will enjoy a meal after the event. Contact MHS office at 512-455-9333 for more information.

Food bank visiting community center

GAUSE NEWS Areminder: Austin Area Food Bank will be at Gause Community Center on Tuesday, Nov. 12. This is open to everyone in the community. I f you know someone who would like to come bring them with you. Everyone needs to bring boxes or sacks to put the food in.

Halloween happenings at local churches Peace Lutheran Church—Spook house and Trunk or Treat from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church—Trick or Treat for hunger. High School teens will go door to door collecting nonperishable food items for the food pantry at 5:30 in the parking lot.

Work by Rockdale-area artist Melton Guthrie has been on display in a couple of Central Texas venues this fall. His painting of the late Cliff Dungan, a Reporter employee, titled “Bad Medicine,” was on display at the Georgetown Art Center as part of the 2019 Art Hop, a juried art show.

Tax notices mailed, special hours set

CAMERON—Milam County Tax Collector Sherry Mueck says 2019 tax bills have been mailed. “If you do not receive your bill by the end of October 2019, please contact the Milam County Tax Office,.” she said. Mueck said taxes are due upon receipt and become delinquent on February 1.
