Rockdale athletes honored at fall banquet

RHS softball, baseball games scheduled Rockdale High School softball players were scheduled to partake in their annual “Blue vs. Gold” game on Saturday afternoon, but with rainy weather in the area, the Lady Tigers were forced to wait out the conditions until deciding to cancel the game.

Rockdale powerlifters rack up honors at Yoe Invitational

CAMERON—Four Rockdale High School powerlifters left Saturday’s Yoe Invitational with medals while another five student athletes placed among the top five in their respective weight classes. The Lady Tigers had three silver medalists including Melody Duran, Ashley Gonzales-Reyes and Shakira Richards.

This Saturday afternoon, RHS softball will open up their season for their Blueand- Gold game, an intersquad scrimmage with a mix of both varsity and junior varsity players on each team. First pitch at the Lady Tiger softball field is scheduled for 1 p.m.

On Monday, five Tiger golfers traveled east to Navasota’s Pecan Lakes Golf Course to play in their first tournament of the season. While in Grimes County, RHS sophomore Mason Lillard placed fourth overall with a score of 79.

YOUTH SOFTBALL

Rockdale Girls Softball League is holding sign-ups from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. this Saturday at the RGSL Complex and on Sunday at Wal-Mart from 10-2. League board members and coaches are also asked to help with field and complex maintenance this Sunday as well.
