RHS soccer teams fall short in La Vega Tiger soccer fell to Giddings 1-0 on Monday night. The Blue-and-Gold will face Caldwell at home on Saturday. Game time is 11 a.m. The Lady Tigers also lost to Giddings, falling 14-1.

MHS, THS hoops headed to playoffs

Lady Eagle and Lady Dog basketball ended their regular season with both squads headed to the post-season. Thorndale ended their district campaign on Tuesday evening with a 78-23 home win over Granger. Finishing with a record of 9-1, the Lady Dogs are tied for first with Hearne.

In front of what was a packed house at the Geneva Paceley Gym, the Milano Eagles and Thorndale Bulldogs battled for the top spot in 27-2A. The game, which had 11 lead changes, came down to the final minute.

Lady Tigers get past Cameron, 49-46

Although Rockdale basketball teams were not in action Friday evening, the Lady Tigers did take down rival Cameron 49-46 on the other side of the Little River last Tuesday. The Blue-and-Gold was led by sophomore Ciara Miles, who had 20 points.

Hasselbach earns silver in Navasota

Rockdale High School golfers went east to Navasota yesterday where senior Jake Hasselbach finished as a silver medalist, shooting an 82. Other Tiger golfers were A.J. Hicks (106), Creek Windham (108), Carson Eoff (116), and Mason Meschwitz (122).

Rockdale Girls Softbal sign ups on Saturday Rockdale Girls Softball League will have a registration day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the youth softball complex. The field is located at 622 County Road 305 in Rockdale.

Rockdale High School boys’ soccer came within one goal of beating La Grange on Monday, a team that has finished first or second in district the past three seasons, 5-4. Each team scored a goal in the first half, with Daniel Castillo getting the goal for the Tigers.
