SAN MARCOS—Saturday afternoon came down to one game and two teams located less than 30 miles away from each other. The day before, Milano toppled District 30-2A runner up Falls City, 56-27, in a game where the birds outscored a Beaver team more conditioned for the gridiron 31-10 in the second half.

Rockdale varsity track teams might have placed fifth and sixth overall at the 64th Rockdale Relays, but endured tough competition at Tiger Stadium Friday. Among the 11 high schools that sent varsity teams to Rockdale, only two were smaller than RHS.

LADY DOG SOFTBALL

Over the weekend, Thorndale Lady Dog softball went 3-3 at the Brenham Tournament. They took down Conroe 5-1 and beat Lexington 14-5. Their third win of the tourney was over Class 6A Willis 6-4. Their losses in Washington County were to Houston area school Channelview 7-0 and Dripping Springs 10-3.
