Tigers finish third at Caldwell Relays

Rockdale High School track teams made many positive strides at Caldwell’s Happy Skrabanek Relays last Thursday, where the Tigers placed third as a team and the Lady Tigers earned four bronze and two silver medals.

A young Tiger baseball team played tough against perennial powerhouse Rogers, but couldn’t overcome errors Friday night in Bell County, where the Eagles ended the evening on top, 11-1.

This past weekend was deja vu for Thorndale High School senior Hayden Kylberg, who won his second straight state powerlifting title at Abilene’s Taylor County Expo Center last weekend.

Saturday was for the girls: Golden Girls leave Nationals earning sweepstakes

Over the weekend, Rockdale High School’s Golden Girls competed in San Antonio at Danceline USA’s National Dance/Drill Team Championships. While in Bexar County, the team earned Danceline National Sweepstakes, which means the judges gave them scores of 95 or above on all of their performances.

Thorndale teams stay undefeated

Lady Dog softball got their sixth consecutive win on Friday night, taking down Granger 12-0. THS freshman Karis Ginn allowed just two hits against the Lady Lions and struck out four to add to her total of 65 strikeouts on the season. Natalie Garcia and Emilee Baker led at the plate going 3-for-4.

RJH ACE Tigers after-school program has a lot to offer

Rockdale Junior High’s ACE program has lots to offer both students and their families. Tutorial sessions are available in both the mornings and the afternoons for students to get extra help or catch up on missing work. Every morning from 7:15 to 8 a.m. we have Rise and Shine Cafe.

Spring Break In Rockdale

While school might have not been in session this past week, Rockdale still had some stuff going on around town. On Thursday, area resident Tymon Locklin held a free football came on the practice field outside of Tiger Stadium.

Martinka places sixth at state meet

While many people headed to the coast during spring break to relax, Thorndale High School’s Landri Martinka went to Corpus Christi for a chance to win a state powerlifting championship.
