Going into the Region III meet at Waco’s Midway High School this weekend, first year Tiger track coach Chris Van Cleave says this year’s trip to McClennan County is all about staying focused. “We are focusing on giving these kids a great experience,” Van Cleave said.

Tigers fall in Caldwell, 8-5

Blue-and-Gold baseball lost to Caldwell for the second time in district play, but didn’t go down with out a fight as they put up five runs in the final inning before ultimately losing on the road, 8-5 to their Brazos Valley neighbors.

RHS golf ends season at regionals

Tiger golfers played in the regional tournament for the fourteenth straight year last Monday and Tuesday. Teeing off at the Brenham Country Club, the Blue-and-Gold also placed fourteenth overall as a team.

Lady Dog golf competed in Corpus Christi at the Region IV tournament last week, where they improved by 22 strokes from the first day to the second day of the tourney. THS senior Juliette DeMaio had the team’s top score with a 121-11-232 and Hope Vickers shot a 120- 115-235.

THS teams ramp up for playoffs

Thorndale High School baseball and softball teams both have post-season play right around the corner with the Lady Dogs headed to Salado on Thursday for a rematch with Harper.
