LA GRANGE—Thorndale softball seemingly faced an uphill battle in their regional semi-final matchup with Ganado after falling to the Maidens, 2-1 in Wednesday’s series opener. However, the Lady Bulldogs were far from finished.

Bulldogs can’t outlast top-ranked Shiner

LA GRANGE—The Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm in Friday’s game two of their Regional Quarterfinals series against Shiner, Class 2A’s highest ranked team in the latest Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association poll.

TIGER DAY INFO

On Monday, Rockdale Junior High will hold “Tiger Day,” which will honor RJH athletes in front of their families. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. in the RJH Gymnasium and there will be a cookout following the ceremony on the side of the school by the RJH tennis courts.

SCENES FROM STATE TRACK MEET

Thorndale’s Branson McCoy finished seventh in the Class 2A 100-meter dash. This was the Bulldog senior’s second straight trip to state. Tiger freshman Timothy Grice earned silver in the Class 3A 200-meter dash with a time of 21.26, breaking his own personal record.
